Proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the Nations

Scott Nute

Staff Evangelist

Born February 5‚ 1967 in Moberly‚ Missouri‚ Scott Nute was always involved in sports as a boy‚ especially baseball. In his senior year of high school‚ 1985‚ he led the state of New Mexico pitchers in strikeouts and broke his high school's nineteen-year single season record for strikeouts. This record still stands today.

In college, Scott accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of 19. After playing four years of collegiate baseball, he toured with a Christian sports ministry called "Athletes In Action" in the summer of 1989.  During this tour‚ while his team was playing exhibition games in Honduras‚ Scott signed a professional baseball contract with the Detroit Tigers. After a successful rookie year of minor league baseball‚ Scott attended his first Professional Spring Training the following spring of 1990.  Due to an injury to his pitching shoulder‚ Scott was released from his contract.

Several months later‚ God called Scott to preach‚ and specifically, to do the work of an evangelist. Though retired from baseball for many years, the former professional baseball career is a unique aspect of Scott Nute's ministry that God uses to capture the attention of people‚ especially non-Christians and youth. The professional baseball background has become an important part of publicity and advertising for events at which Scott speaks.  Many people are interested to hear a former professional athlete speak.
As a communicator of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Scott is especially effective in focusing his messages in three specific ways:  First, as a public communicator of the Gospel, Scott focuses on clearly and concisely communicating the Gospel, and providing listeners with the opportunity to respond to the Gospel by accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Secondly‚ Scott desires to encourage‚ lift up and exhort Christians to be all that God wants them to be, and to do everything that God wants them to do.  Scott provides Christians with opportunity to make a fresh‚ full re-dedication of their lives, and encourages them to focus on knowing, serving, and loving the Lord and other people.

Thirdly, Scott especially desires to be used of God to offer encouraging words of love and hope to those who have emotional wounds and brokenness in their lives‚ offering practical steps to wholeness through the love and grace of God.

Scott has traveled nearly five hundred thousand miles during international trips to numerous countries. He has preached the Gospel through area-wide and single church events in soccer fields, auditoriums, gymnasiums, churches, pastors conferences, public school assemblies, and other venues. Thousands of people, young and old, have made personal life-changing commitments to Jesus Christ through Scott's evangelistic ministry.

Evangelist Scott Nute is an ordained Southern Baptist Minister and is endorsed by the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention as an itinerant evangelist.  Scott's ministry focus and desire is to bring the Body of Christ together inter-denominationally‚ uniting Christians and churches to work side-by-side in area-wide and local church outreach events.
