Evangelist David Stockwell

David Stockwell's ministry began at the age of 17, when he received Christ after attending a Fellowship of Christian Athletes conference and a city-wide crusade in his hometown of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  He immediately felt the call of evangelism on his life, and began preaching the Gospel in schools, churches and in public arenas. 

David attended Rice University in Houston, Texas on a football scholarship, where he also became president of the Rice chapters of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Campus Crusade for Christ, and Athletes in Action.  After graduating with a degree in behavioral science, he attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and graduated with a master of divinity degree.  In college and in seminary, showing a proclivity for linguistics, he completed five years of Greek and three years of Hebrew language studies. 

The mission of David Stockwell Evangelistic Association is to fulfill the Great Commission by proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ internationally, and by assisting local leaders in equipping believers for effective ministry.  Using a ministry model for outreach which includes the following areas of focus, David has reached hundreds of thousands of people around the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. 

The five “arms” of DSEA ministry outreach programs are School Programs, City-Wide Evangelistic Outreaches, the NEST (National Evangelist Support Team) Program, Training Conferences, and Bible Distribution. David's School Program, David Stockwell Speaks Out, has been presented from coast to coast in America and around the world.  As he travels internationally, David speaks with young people about drug abuse, alcohol abuse, abstinence, AIDS awareness, respect for authority, patriotism, and social and moral values. He shares his own personal testimony about how the power of God changed his life.  

David has a special ability to communicate with the youth of today with clarity, power and relevance. Through student programs, evangelistic outreaches, training conferences and distribution of Bibles and discipleship materials, David seeks to reach people with the Good News of Jesus Christ,and to assist and train local leaders and believers for effective ministry. 

David is a powerful communicator of the Gospel and a dynamic motivational speaker.  He has ministered in churches, schools, universities, prisons, government offices, medical facilities, sports arenas, and a variety of other venues, as well as in rallies, crusades, and revivals across America and in many nations overseas, including Bangladesh, Brazil, England, Guatemala, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Nicaragua, the Philippines, Romania, South Africa, Uganda, Ukraine, Zambia and Zimbabwe.  In over forty years of evangelistic ministry, David has seen hundreds of thousands of people pray to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. David and his wife, Amy, are committed to the clear, uncompromising communication of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and serve God together in full-time evangelistic ministry.
