David Stockwell is a powerful communicator of the Gospel. A dynamic preacher, harvest evangelist and motivational speaker, he has ministered in crusades, rallies, churches, schools, universities, prisons, government offices, sports arenas, and a variety of other venues across America and in many nations overseas.
A top scholar and award-winning athlete, David attended Rice University on a football scholarship, and graduated with a bachelor of science degree in behavioral science. He then attended and graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a master of divinity degree, and has completed more than 90 hours of doctoral level studies. David is also a private pilot, with more than 3,000 hours logged.
David has been privileged to preach the Gospel on innumerable occasions in more than 20 countries since the age of 17, and has seen hundreds of thousands of people pray to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. David serves as president of the ministry.
David's wife, Amy Stockwell, is an anointed worship leader, inspirational soloist, and Bible teacher whose ministry in music, drama, and teaching has touched thousands of lives. Amy leads in praise and worship at DSEA ministry events and travels with David in full-time evangelism. She has traveled with David on more than 70 international missions through the years.
A graduate of Baylor University with a bachelor of fine arts degree in theatre arts, Amy brings a "dramatic flair" to DSEA ministry events, and has found her place on the stage at David's side.
As Vice-President of the ministry, Amy manages communications, web presence, administrative, business, and financial aspects of running DSEA, a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation.
Margaret Pendergrast has served as Executive Administrative Assistant to the ministry of DSEA since September of 2004. She has a heart to serve, is energetic, and enjoys her work in the Katy, Texas office. Her primary role for the ministry is administrative; however, she is always willing to be of service in a variety of other capacities.
Margaret has also had the joy of serving on the mission field twice with DSEA in Africa, and also volunteers her time with Bill Glass Prison Ministries, leading teams from her home church, Second Baptist in Houston, through various prison ministry weekends.
She loves the Lord and has been able to share her testimony with thousands of people and to encourage them with her clear, heart-felt communication of the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Steven Stockwell is a 2008 graduate of Texas Lutheran University (TLU) who holds a bachelor of arts degree in physics. and was also member of the TLU Honors Program. Steven has traveled with DSEA sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ since the time of his graduation. Steven is the Director of Youth Education Strategies (YES,) a division of DSEA, and has traveled extensively in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa and the Philippines, presenting the Gospel through his YES school program to hundreds of thousands of young people. Steven has prayed the Sinner’s Prayer with more than 200,000 people since he began traveling and working with his father in ministry.
Steven and his wife, Sara, are committed to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ and educating young people about substance abuse, abstinence, and pro-life issues. Steven is also enrolled at Southern Evangelical Seminary, and is working on his master of divinity degree in scientific apologetics.
Sara Stockwell, Steven Stockwell’s beautiful new bride, is a 2019 magna cum laude graduate of Lone Star Community College, with an associate’s degree in nursing. Sara holds an active nursing license and is currently working on her bachelor of science degree in nursing. Having recently joined the DSEA Staff family, Sara serves in a support staff role. She served on her first DSEA mission project at Steven’s side in the Philippines in November of 2019. Sara’s long-term goals include working and volunteering as a nurse on the mission field both internationally and here at home in the US. Her heart’s desire is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to minister alongside her husband wherever the Lord leads them.
Helen Stockwell is David's mother, and a mighty prayer warrior. She prays fervently and consistently for the ministry of DSEA and the many thousands of people who hear the Gospel each year as presented by DSEA mission and NEST Teams across the globe.
Helen's sweet spirit and joy in Christ are contagious, and she is a blessing to all who know her.
Helen was widowed at an early age when her beloved husband, Vernon Stockwell, Sr., David's father, died suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of 49. Her faithfulness to the Lord through the years has been a shining example of the love and grace of Christ at work in her life.
Troy McMahon is a CFEd® Certified Financial Educator, and serves on the Board of DSEA and as Secretary-Treasurer. In 1977, Mr. McMahon earned his BBA degree in accounting from the University of Houston. In 1993, he completed an additional two-year academic curriculum in Personal Financial Planning from the University of Houston Center for Executive Development.
Mr. McMahon is CEO and Founder of Legacy Planning Group, which offers value-driven professional services related to Estate, Tax & Retirement Planning and Financial Services.
Mr. McMahon serves on numerous Boards of Directors for various global charities, and he is a nationally sought-after conference speaker. He gave his life to Christ at an early age, and has served in numerous capacities in local churches for more than 30 years. Troy's wife, Kimberly, also works in full-time ministry.
